T-Mobile is extending Simple Global, the scheme that pretends to offer you free unlimited data when travelling, to 210 countries – up from the previous 140.

We say ‘pretends’ as what you actually get free of charge is 2G data, which is pretty much unusable. But it will now offer a chargeable option for LTE data …

Skype to roll out built-in call recording across all the platforms

After fifteen years, Skype is now rolling out a much-needed feature to every platform including Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, and Linux. In its official release, Microsoft team said that the update would be rolled out by the month end, and users can record their calls on Skype.

Until now, users have been using unwieldy workarounds to record calls on Skype. It will be a cloud-based system to record everyone’s video and screen sharing during the call.

“Call recording is completely cloud-based, and as soon as you start recording, everyone in the call is notified that the call is being recorded,” explains Microsoft’s Skype team. “Call recordings combine everyone’s video as well as any screens shared during the call.”

Skype Call Recording Feature

Skype is one of the best video calling apps, so much so that it has beaten default FaceTime in iOS devices.

Since Skype is touted as one of the best video chat apps among iOS users, this feature of call recording was long overdue.

As it will be a cloud-based recording system, the feature will be compatible across all the platforms like Windows, Mac, Android, iOS, and Linux as well.

The Skype team is also working on a new desktop app, which will have an interface that would be similar to Skype’s mobile apps.

Users will have to wait until the end of July as the new features will be available to all Skype users across all platforms. However, the team didn’t declare the date of release.

This feature will shut down the shops of many developers, who have developed Skype recording tools. However, the developers need not be disappointed as Skype notifies everyone on the call that your call is being recorded.

Moreover, it is a cloud-based system and therefore, users may have to pay for cloud storage. The two facts will keep the developers’ business going on.

Notably, Windows users have another reason to rejoice as Microsoft has released an updated version of Skype (version 8.0) for desktop; this new version will replace Skype 7.0, which was known as Skype classic.

Signing off…

Call recording is an essential feature for all chat clients as consumers are adopting the Internet calling feature against the traditional landline devices or mobile phones. Using a third-party app or tool to record Skype calls is an awkward task.

This built-in feature will ensure that your calls are recorded without any difficulty. But then other participants get to know their voice is being recorded. This fact will encourage many Skype users to stick to the third-party tools. Would you like to use the default call recording feature of Skype?

It turns out the more affordable 6.1-inch iPhone that Apple has planned for 2018 won’t quite be the iPhone X lookalike we were expecting. The brand new handset will certainly borrow a lot of the iPhone X’s design traits, but according to new screen protectors, its LCD display won’t be truly edge-to-edge. Its edge-to-edge Super Retina […]
